Gingersnaps

Do you like gingersnaps? I LOVE gingersnaps. They bring back fond memories of my dad eating them with his coffee. I think he still loves them as much as I do. I found this recipe that will be made very soon (maybe I will make them & take to my parents house).

Ingredients
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ginger
3/4 c butter-flavor shortening
1 c sugar
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
sugar to roll cookies in

Directions
Sift the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger together. Cream the shortening and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the molasses and egg and beat well. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Roll into small balls, adding additional flour if necessary to make the dough easy to handle. Dip in sugar and place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
